The Student Psychological Counselling centre was established in the year 2008 which happened to be the Golden Jubilee year of the Psychology department.

It is being run and supervised by the faculty of Psychology department. Students take Counselling for various reasons and problems like emotional disturbances, depression, memory loss, loss of concentration, learning disabilities, stress, personality problems and conflicts etc., Some of the functions of the centre are:

To assist the students to solve their personal, educational and psychological problems
To cultivate and develop positive attitude and behaviour in order to meet challenges
To help the students to recognize their strength and overcome their weaknesses
To counsel the students to progress better in their academic

When the student approaches the centre for counselling the case will be registered by filling the Pre-Counselling form. Later sufficient counselling sessions will be arranged as per the requirement. Social, Psychological and Academic screening will be done whenever necessary. The name, Identity and problem of the clients are kept confidential. Mild Emotional, Psychological problems will be handled in the centre. If the problem is identified as severe the case will be referred to a Psychiatrist in consultation with their parents.
