Department of Commerce

History:

The Department of Commerce was started in the year 1973 with 40 students in General B.Com Course in Telugu medium and faculty deputed from S.V. Arts College.

In Response to the demand for the course and taking into the account the Socio-economic needs of the region, the department has started two more sections, one in English Medium and another section in Telugu medium with sanctioned strength of 80 in each section.

In 1986 B.A.(MAS) Group was introduced with Accountancy has one of the paper, to acuminated the enthusiastic young girls aspiring for Mathematics and Commerce.

In 2007 B.Com Computer Applications was introduced to meet the developments in Information Technology with Commerce.

In 2008 B.A ASCA (Accountancy, Statistics and Computer Applications) was started.

In its existence of more than 4 decades, it has turned out about 1450 commerce graduates, who are well placed in the prestigious organizations.

Activities 2022-23

Using ICT Tools	ICT Tools used by Mrs. D. Sahithi, Mrs. D. Radhika & Miss P.S.Sailaja for Practical Demonstrations.
Conferences	D.Sahithi Participated and presented a paper “ Relative Investigation of Big data Analytics among different strategies” organized by SPMVV on March 17 -18,2023.
Paper Setter	Dr S. Jayasree, Dr G. Nirmala, Miss P.S.Sailaja, Dr M. Kumudini, Dr J. Nalini are paper setters for Yogi Vemana University, Kadapa.
Field Visit	Dr. S. Jayasree, Dr. M. Kumudini, Dr. J. Nalini and Miss. P.S. Sailaja Visited Vishal Megha Mart on 31.10.2023 along with 25 II B.Com Computer Applications to create awareness about Accounting Procedures, Accounting Package used,. Inventory Maintenance etc.
Cultural	Dr. K. Padmini trained 11 of II B.Com Computer Applications students for SKIT on “Importance of Tourism” organized by AP Tourism, Tirupati Division the occasion of National Tourism Day at Silpa Ramam on 27.09.2023.
External Evaluator	Dr. K. Padmini acted as External Evaluator at SPGH School, Tirupati on 23.01.2024 for various cultural competitions for all TTD School Students.
Resource Person	Dr. K. Padmini acted as Resource Person and delivered speech for I and II B.A. Students through ICT Tools on “Life History of Sri Bhagavad Sri Ramanujacharya” on the occasion of Tirupati AavirbhavaDinothsavamon 24.02.2024.
