A library committee is necessary for effective library management and governance. The library committee reviews and recommends policies for the Library, with particular attention to the collection of books and the distribution of resources among academic divisions and units. The Committee is a channel of communication between the library and the faculty, staff and students. The committee assists in the assessment and promotion of the library’s alignment with the needs of the college community.
A well-stocked library in the campus catering to diverse needs of the students and faculty. It possessed International Journals, National Journals, Magazines and dailies. The departments maintain a separate library with a good number of text books and reference books. A Library plays a vital role in the search of knowledge. It serves as the workshop for the entire college – students and faculty alike. College Library aims to support the teaching learning activity in the college and update the knowledge of the students and ensure the optimum utilization of the available resources.
Sri Padmavathi Women’s Degree and PG College, Tirupati was established by the Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams in 1952 to serve the educational needs of women students of Tirupati and its surrounding areas. It started functioning from 2nd July 1952 as a second grade college under affiliation to Madras University.
