Department of Hindi

History:

The Hindi department was instituted in the year1955. The Hindi department was small, but was run effectively by Ms. K.V. Venkatalakshmi, who was the only lecturer to start with. She taught the language both from the point of view of the examination and as a national language of the country. Her department produced an excellent pass percentage. When the student strength increased, Ms.Leela came on board, followed by Ms. N.C. Seethammal and later on by Ms. Usha. Now the department is headed by the Mrs. P.Venkatalakshmi. with the support of Lecturer Mr.G.Sudhakara.

Vision

To make students learn the greatness of Hindi heritage, customs and traditions.
To develop a positive outlook towards Hindi Language among the students.
To familiarize the students with the various modern trends in Hindi Literature.
To develop the Language Proficiency and Communication Skill of the students in Hindi Language.
Explain the need of Hindi language which has been losing its importance survival.
The vision of the department is import knowledge of national language Hindi and official language of India, its literature and Functional Hindi to NON-Hindi speaking students through innovative methods in teaching learning and evaluation

Mission:

To explain the social, moral and human values among the student community
To provide the basic and general information about Hindi Language.
To enlighten the students about the richness and importance of Hindi language
To impart relevant good quality of education to the students, to inculcate the value of India culture and to teach the students the value of self – reliance and service.
To encourage the students to listen, understand, read write Hindi
To build life skills through value- based education and service – oriented programs
To inculcate interest among students in the study of Hindi Literature, along with academic excellence
