Electronics department

History:

The department of electronics was established in the year 1977-78 by Mrs. R. Kameswari madam, head of department of Physics affiliated with Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati in the year 1979, Dr. B. Vasantha madam and Dr. K. Kanaka Durga madam were appointed for the department of Electronics. The intake of students is only 12 at that time. It gradually increased and reached now 50 for the academic year 2020-21. The department is equipped with digital classrooms and laboratories and has marked a steady growth in curricular and co-curricular aspects. At present Dr. K. Vasudha lecturer in chemistry is the Head of the department of electronics.

Courses Offered : The Department offers one Undergraduate (UG) course B.Sc, (MPE) Mathematics, Physics, Electronics.

Infrastructure:

The department is facilitated with one room in which the circuit designing and execution of the experiments is done. The ICT tools such as LCD projector is used for theory as well as practical explanations. By using the computer systems with the soft wares the circuits were designed and executed.

Laboratories :

The electronics department has a well-equipped laboratory. The students are encouraged to do the experiments, explore, and innovate. Department provides the students with the required equipment to design and test the electronic circuits, troubleshoot issues, and come up with creative solutions.

The department of Electronics acquires more than 95% of pass percentage in the university examinations for each semester in every academic year.

Prizes in Co-curricular/Extra curricular:

The students of electronics actively participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities such as NSS, NCC and Games etc. Also they receive the prizes in each activity.

Placements:

The students of Electronics are acquiring jobs every year in different companies based on their performance in the interviews. Various companies conduct drives for jobs in the campus through which the students got employment.

Collaborations / MOU:

The department of Electronics is having MOU with Department of Physics & Electronics of P.V.K.N. Govt Degree College, Chittoor. And with Department of Physics Sri Padmavathi Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam, Tirupati.

Activities:

1) Field Visits : Each academic year the students along with the staff of the department are encouraged to visit one of the places such as NARL Gadanki, Regional Science Centre, Tirupati and etc., The knowledge about the science and technology will be enhanced by the field visits and which is useful for their future studies.

2) Student Seminars : Seminars/Conferences: students are encouraged to deliver seminars and attend conferences during their academic schedule.

3) Quiz/Group Discussions : Each academic year the department of electronics conducts quiz and Group discussion based on the advancement of electronics in day to day usage and whether it is good for us or not. All the students of B.Sc (MPE) are encouraged to participate in the Quiz and Group discussion.

5) Science Exhibition : 28 th of February of every academic year department of electronics conducts science exhibition on the ocassion of science day celebrations. All the I, II & III year students of B.Sc (MPE) are encouraged to do the project works. Based on the properties of electronic components the projects are designed which can be used for day to day life requirements.
