Department of Botany

History:

Botany is an important branch of Biology or Life sciences that has very good opportunities in the fields of academics, research and very good employment options. The Department of the Botany was established in the year 1961. At present having 3 regular teaching positions catering the academic needs of the student community studying Botany as one of the optional subjects in their programe. The department is handling the B.Sc. Programmer in CBCS pattern with Botany, Zoology & Chemistry combination (B.Z.C.) and B,Sc Botany Honours.

The Department striving hard in encouraging the students of Botany in building the good academic career with the required curricular inputs and by organizing co-curricular activities like Student seminars, Quiz programmes and field visits. The Students of Botany are also encouraged to participate in the Extra-curricular activities organized by NSS, NCC and other different clubs / cells of the college.
