Hostels

The unique features of our college are hostels. The majority of the students stay in the campus. SPWDC hostels are legend in their own right. The general conditions, facilities and comforts became key factors that enticed the students from all parts of the state. Moreover, all these facilities provided to the students with free of cost so that our college is attracted by the students from all parts of the state to get an admission in our college. The attached Hostels consisting 7 blocks with student strength of 2100 girls is the significant feature of the college. The seven hostel blocks in the campus are

Most of the hostel blocks have attached bathrooms and all the blocks have its own spacious dining halls with spic and span. Each hostel block has a study hall, its own small library, reading room and prayer hall. For the benefit of hostel residents, a co-operative store supplied essential consumer goods, including books. The college and hostel have beautiful and environment friendly campus. The TTD management has implemented the freeships to all our girl students under the “Nithyannadana Scheme”, this is the unique feature of our institution. The expenditure of all the college hostels is meet from the TTD funds under Nithyannadhanam trust The common menu system, same as the food served in the Temple of Sri Venkateswara Swami, was introduced in the year 2008, This facility has enabled the students from below poverty line also to pursue education without any financial burden to the family. Students get admission in first year into our hostels is purely based on merit, rule of reservation, availability of accommodation and distance from her native place as per revenue records. The students should have 75% of attendance in the college and they should be permitted into the mess. To continue in the succeeding years students must pass at least 4 subjects. No new admission should be entertained other than in the first year of their course.

Warden:

The Warden has full authority and final decision-making power in running the hostel, according to the decisions of the Hostel Committee. The Principal (Chief Warden) and the Hostel Warden mutually assist in the administration of the hostel.

Deputy Warden

The Warden's authorities are appropriately delegated to the Deputy Warden for efficient management of the hostel. Generally, the Warden or Deputy Warden has the right to take pertinent action against students.

For the safety and well-being of the student, the Deputy Warden has the authority to permit or deny requests received via telephone/ written request from the student's parents or guardian for a student to leave the hostel. Alternatively, if the student's parents or guardians come directly to take the student, permission can be granted.

Matron (Students Caretaker)

The Matron maintains good relationships with students and looks after their welfare. The responsibility of maintaining discipline among students lies with the Matron. Students in each block are under the care of the respective block's Matron.

Admission:

Hostel admission is granted only to students of Sri Padmavati Degree & P.G. College.

  1. Only students selected by various admission committees of the college based on merit are eligible for hostel admission.
  2. Based on the ration card, students whose hometown is more than 20 km
  3. Considering the candidate's family income certificate (<100000.00), they will be provided with free meal facilities.
  4. Married students are not allowed to stay in the hostel.

  1. Establishment Charge (per year) (Non-refundable): ₹1,100.00
  2. Room Maintenance Charges per year: ₹200.00
  3. Annual Electrical Charges: ₹1,500.00
  4. Other Charges per year: ₹200.00
  5. Application Form: ₹15.00

Rules for Students in the Hostel

  1. Students must maintain good behavior.
  2. Parents must accompany the student at the time of hostel admission; otherwise, the student will not be admitted to the hostel.
  3. Visitors are allowed only on Sundays from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Visitors must leave the hostel premises by 4:30 PM. Parents should not remain in the hostel premises after 4:30 PM.
  4. Students must attend breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the designated times and they must consume milk, breakfast, and meals in the dining hall specially arranged for this purpose.:
    • Breakfast: 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM
    • Lunch: 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM
    • Evening milk: 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM
    • Dinner: 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM
  5. Students must maintain silence during study hours:
    • Morning: 5:00 AM to 7:00 AM
    • Night: 8:00 PM to 10:30 PM
  6. Every day at 6:00 PM, attendance will be taken by the matron in each block. Students should not be absent without permission. They must participate in prayers with devotion conducted every day at 6:00 AM with "Suprabhatam" and at 6:00 PM with "Govinda Namalu."
