Department of History

History:

The department of History is established in the year 1952 along with the establishment of the collage with English. Telugu medium was introduced in the year 1971 at present the following groups.

Total numbers of lecturers in the department are four. The department has ground to this level under the efficient leadership of Miss G. S. Saraswathi, Smt. Triveni, Smt K. Ramamani, Miss K. Annapurna, Smt. P. Vasantha, Smt Lakshmi Annapurna and Smt. Ragini Ramamohan.

At present Smt. M. Hemalatha the Head of the Department and other faculty member include Dr. M. Krishnaveni. All faculty members now working.

Are highly qualified, talented, experienced and committed to their duties.The faculty members lay emphasis on inclusion of modern teaching.

The Department has produced a number of alumni, a few to quote are :

BA, History, Political Science, Anthropology (TM)
B.A History, Social work and Geography (TM)

Presently B.A programme Honours (History) course is offered to students by the Department under the affiliation of S. V.University Tirupati.

Strength:

Nearly 250 students opted for BA Economics subject. Department is conducting various knowledgeEnriching programme for student like seminars, quiz programme,group discussions,Elocution internships ,field visits and Projects.

Department Library

The department hadHuge departmental library having 50 books.

Results

Every year the department result exhibits between 95 – 100 % in the university examinations. The students are encouraged to pursue higher education. Many of our students got selected in various universites for PG programmes.
